MAN FOR OTHERS.

The best school motto for me comes from The Ateneo. I’m not from the Ateneo but two of my older brothers are alumnus of this great school. Due to this, I’ve been quite familiar with the Ateneo environment and I must say this is the reason why I’m an Atenean by heart and a La Sallian by school. Anyhow, this post is not about that. It’s about the up coming elections. I’ve seen and read some Ateneans supporting Gibo Teodoro. I have nothing against them but I have to be honest—I’m disappointed in them.

“I think therefore I am for Gibo” slogan is just stupid for me. How can they honestly say that they think when this candidate they’re supporting is the same person who has been tolerating the wrongdoings of the President they can’t wait to step-down? Sure, he’s intelligent and all that but aside from intelligence, what has he really done aside from the laws re-classifying roads to national roads, etc. Nothing significant. Maybe, they also failed to remember his DND stint. Modernizing the AFP? Recycling military arms which costs more than the brand new ones. This was his policy? Oh, who would have forgotten the NDCC situation. Remember Ondoy? How long did it take them to respond?

He’s been given the opportunity to handle both executive and legislative positions. He, apparently failed in both. Now, you claim to think and choose him over somebody who has been living up to your great motto? Not only that. You pick him over someone who has been given the opportunity to be in the legislative and executive positions and was able to be successful in both fields?

Gibo has Tarlac.

Gordon has Subic, Olongapo, Zambales. A volunteer of the Red Cross—seems like a lifetime already. A Public Servant.

Now tell me, are you really thinking?

Just saw the Bagumbayan video and I’m really glad to see Miguel Escueta in that video—I’m not a fan but I know he’s an Atenean—for me, that’s something! :) Maybe, some Ateneans who weighed Gibo or Gordon but chose Gibo because he’s cooler than Gordon, I hope you think again. THINK CLEARLY that is. :)

“MULDER: “Scully, I was like you once. I didn’t know who to trust, and I chose another path, another life, another fate, where I found my sister. And even though my world was unrecognizable and upside down, there was one thing that remained the same; [takes her face in his hands] you were my friend, and you told me the truth. Even when the world was falling apart, you were my constant, my touchstone.”
SCULLY: “And you are mine.”
